The terms and conditions of the trade fair company putting on the event apply primarily to our work at the trade fair grounds as well as its valid rates. Otherwise, we work on the basis of the "Allgemeine Deutsche Spediteurbedingungen 2016" (General German Forwarders' Conditions 2016).
WE POINT OUT THE FACT THAT THEIR SUBITEM 23 STATES THAT THE FORWARDER’S LIABILITY IS GENERALLY LIMITED TO 5 EUROS/KG OF THE GROSS WEIGHT OF THE SHIPMENT IF THE GOODS ARE LOST OR DAMAGED, AND THAT, WITH A TRANSPORT CONTRACT ON CARRIAGE WITH VARIOUS MEANS OF CONVEYANCE AND WITH LARGE-SCALE DAMAGE, A LIMITATION TO LIABILITY BEYOND THIS TAKES EFFECT TO 2 SPECIAL DRAWING RIGHTS/KG OR 1 MILLION EUROS PER CASE OF DAMAGE OR 2 MILLION EUROS PER TOTAL LOSS OCCURRENCE, WHERE THE HIGHER SUM APPLIES. IF THERE IS NO DECLARATION OF VALUE, WE SHALL BE LIABLE FOR 500 EUROS PER PIECE OR UNIT that we provide the transportation for.
We are agents of the air freight forwarder or ocean freight forwarder that we employ in international air freight service and ocean transportation. Liability is based on the conditions on the bill of lading or the Montreal convention or Warsaw treaty depending upon the area of application. We recommend buying a transport insurance policy through us in advance. We only issue orders based on our general terms and conditions of transport that we will send you at your request.
